IHE Delft Blue Partial Scholarships

IHE Delft offers partial scholarships to self-paying students of both the regular and research MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development. The Water Leader and Top Water Scientist Scholarship have an application deadline of 1 June 2025. The other -regular- Delft Blue scholarships will be awarded on rolling basis. We expect to be able to award 30 scholarships in total.
Delft Blue Water Leader Scholarship
For MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development
Offers a 50% reduction of the tuition fee to self-paying, academically admitted applicants with excellent (academic) background (1) who do not have sufficient financial means to cover their study costs.
Application deadline: 1 June 2025
Applicants for this scholarship have to confirm and prove that they do have sufficient means to cover the remaining cost for fees and living expenses. After this has been confirmed, they are eligible to take part in the scholarship selection. If they are selected for a scholarship, they receive an invoice for payment of the reduced tuition fee plus insurance and residence permit costs.
The remaining costs are:
- Tuition fee € 12,523 (including 21% VAT)
- Insurance €684 (subject to price increase)
- Visa €243 (subject to price increase)
- Living and accommodation for one-year stay in the Netherlands €14,640 (estimate)
(1) Selection criteria: a combination of the following criteria may apply: excellent academic background (high BSc/MSc GPA, relevant BSc/MSc major for the chosen track/profile), relevant work experience, strong motivation, good recommendations.

For Research MSc Programme in Water and Sustainable Development

Offers a 35% reduction of the tuition fee to self-paying, academically admitted applicants who do not have sufficient financial means to cover their study costs.
Applications are handled on ‘first come, first served’, ongoing basis. Applicants for this scholarship have to confirm and prove that they do have sufficient means to cover the remaining cost for fees and living expenses. After this has been confirmed, they are eligible to take part in the scholarship selection. If they are selected for a scholarship, they receive an invoice for payment of the reduced tuition fee plus insurance and residence permit costs.

- Tuition fee € 28,707 (including 21% VAT)
- Insurance €1283 (subject to price increase)

- Living and accommodation for 22 months in the Netherlands €27,450 (estimate)

General criteria
General criteria for IHE Delft Partial Scholarships for self-paying students:
- If an applicant is awarded an IHE Delft scholarship or given the Early Bird discount and this applicant later on is awarded another scholarship (e.g. OKP, Rotary), the already paid tuition fee will be paid back to the applicant and the IHE scholarship will be withdrawn.
- The regular Delft Blue Scholarship cannot be combined with the Water Leader Scholarship.
- If you apply for a Water Leader or Top Water Scientist Scholarship and you are not selected, you can still apply for a regular Delft Blue Scholarship
