Ms Slokar holds a PhD degree in Protection of Environment, awarded by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Maribor, Slovenia. Shortly after her PhD defence she acquired a Marie Curie fellowship and enrolled in a 2-year Post-doc study at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in The Netherlands, to continue her research on color removal from waste waters by means of Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs). Upon completion of the project she was invited to extend her affiliation with the Institute and was offered a permanent position a few years later.
Currently, Dr. Slokar is involved in teaching Chemistry and selected subjects of Groundwater Treatment. Her research expertise are removal of heavy metals from groundwater - in particular arsenic - and as of recently, removal of organic micro pollutants with AOPs.
