Vanida Salgado Ismodes has joined IHE Delft as a PhD candidate at the Water Supply, Sanitation and Environmental Engineering Department in May 2023. Her research will focused on surface water treatment and membrane technology in the frame of EU project entitled "Preventing groundwater contamination related to global and climate change through a holistic approach on managed aquifer recharge" MAR2PROTECT.
Vanida studied her Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering at Universidad Catolica de Temuco in Chili. She obtained her MSc. in Water Management with Sanitary Engineering specialization from TU Delft, The Netherlands. During her professional experience, Vanida has worked in the private and public water sector, specifically in the Chilean regulator authority for drinking and wastewater. She has experience in regulation of drinking water quality and treatment, wastewater, environmental standards and households’ installations. In addition, she was in Indonesia, as a technical visitor for water quality assessment in a drinking water treatment plant at Bandung.
