Susanna Loof joined IHE Delft as Communication Manager in August 2021. She leads the Communication Office team, which handles external, internal and stakeholder communication, alumni affairs and marketing.
Her career begun as an Associated Press journalist, initially based in the U.S. Midwest (St. Louis, Kansas City and Detroit) and later at the AP bureaus in Stockholm, Sweden; Johannesburg, South Africa and Vienna, Austria. She also worked at the Vienna-based Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe as a Press and Public Information Officer and at the International Atomic Energy Agency as a Press and Public Information Officer and as Communication Adviser for Nuclear Safety and Security. She was the Communication Manager at the International Commission for Missing Persons in The Hague before joining IHE Delft.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a concurrent Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Kansas, the United States, in 1997, and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 2012.
