Bernice is a PhD candidate in the Water Governance department at IHE. Her research focuses on the transformation of water utilities to become climate resilient, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing the field and making a meaningful impact on global water sustainability efforts.
With over 16 years of experience at Ghana Water Limited (GWL), she has held various pivotal roles including District Manager, Commercial Officer, Statistician, and Client Care Officer. Her educational journey underscores her commitment to acquiring expertise across multiple disciplines, including an MSc in Water Management and Governance from the IHE Delft, an HND in Civil Engineering from Accra Technical University, an MSc in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and a BSc in Statistics from the University of Cape Coast. Bernice's extensive research portfolio encompasses studies on programme evaluation, analysis of water distribution networks, and determinants of capital structure, among others. She has played a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of utility managers through collaborations with international organizations such as IHE and VEI. Notably, she served as an in-house trainer for the district managers of GWL, utilizing the Utility Management Stimulation Game (UMSG) developed under the BEWOP programme to optimize operational efficiency.
Her interdisciplinary expertise empowers her to navigate complex intersections of engineering principles, business strategies, and data analytics, enabling her to address challenges in water management and governance through innovative solutions and informed decision-making. Passionate about knowledge sharing, Bernice is actively engaged in mentoring, facilitating, and lecturing activities to inspire the next generation of water management professionals.
