Amani Matar

Amani Matar joined IHE as a project assistant for the water accounting group under the land and water management department. She is currently working on different capacity-building and research projects within the department. Previously, Amani worked in a consulting firm, for more than six years, on projects related to geology, hydrogeology, water management, and environmental studies in Lebanon and the MENA region.

Amani holds a BSc degree in Geology from the American University in Beirut (AUB) and later obtained her MSc degree in Water Management and Governance with a specialization in Water Resources Management from IHE Delft in 2019. Her research topic “Modelling the Allocation of Water for Food, Energy and Domestic Water Supply in a Closing River Basin - Case study of Litani River, Lebanon” was selected as a winner of the "Annual competition to contribute to climate change and water scarcity solutions in the Middle East" which was organized by a partnership between the American University of Beirut (AUB), IHE Delft Institute for Water Education Wageningen University, the Banque Libano-Francaise in Lebanon and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
