Ingrid Ubeda Trujillo
Ingrid is a PhD student at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft). Her research interest focus on exploring cutting-edge techniques to select optimal drought mitigation strategies in Central America's dry corridor .
Throughout her career, Ingrid has been a lecturer at the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN), with over eleven years of experience in teaching different courses. Some of the courses she have been teaching are GIS, Environmental management using GIS, and rural geography. She has also contributed to the development of different geography curricula, and the creation of courses for UNAN and the Universidad Abierta en Línea de Nicaragua. Before joining IHE Delft, her research focus on applying a spatially explicit model for land cover change (LULCC). This work considered the drivers of LULCC, and stochastic allocation procedure in a case study in Nicaragua.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and a Master in Environmental Management. To strengthen her knowledge, Ingrid completed different trainings in GIS and remote sensing with a focus on Environmental Monitoring and Natural Hazards in Nicaragua, guided by experts from National Taiwan University.
She also received the 2021 Young Scientist and Researcher Award in the Environmental Category, Nicaragua and the academic excellence scholarship from the UNAN 2009-2012.
