Constanza Maass Morales
Constanza is a PhD candidate in hydrology at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and Delft University of Technology. Her research interests include the assessment of transboundary aquifers (TBAs) and cross-border groundwater impacts, and modelling and GIS tools to support the management of TBAs. Throughout her career, Constanza has been involved in the study of aquifer systems in the Atacama Desert. She worked at CIDERH, a research centre focus on the water resources of the north of Chile. Later, she worked at Transboundary Water Resources Unit in Chile's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on TBAs shared by Chile, Peru and Bolivia. She also has headed two information systems to manage hydrological and hydrogeological data: The Water Observatory of Tarapacá (ODEA-CIDERH) and the Transboundary Water Information System (SIAT-DIFROL).
Constanza is a member of the Transboundary Aquifer Commission of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH). She holds an MSc degree in Earth Science from Utrecht University, The Netherlands, and a BSc degree in Geography from the Pontificia Universidad Católica, Chile.
