Chen Wang
Chen Wang is a PhD candidate at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education and Delft University of Technology. His research focuses on knowledge management, with a specific emphasis on the knowledge transfer between cities of the Sponge City programme (SCP) in China. His work includes developing comprehensive frameworks for SCP implementation and conducting in-depth investigations and theoretical analyses of current knowledge transfer practices of SCP.
Chen is now focusing on knowledge transfer in the context of urban water management and Sponge cities.
Research Summary
With an academic background spanning Industrial Engineering (BSc) and Media Strategy Management and Knowledge Management (MSc), Chen integrates interdisciplinary perspectives into his research. Currently, he is analysing data on grey and green infrastructure within SCP projects to assess the effectiveness of knowledge transfer processes. His research also explores innovative methods to enhance knowledge dissemination, including modelling SCP facilities and applying micro-learning techniques to improve the efficiency and impact of knowledge transfer.
Chen’s work aims to address challenges in urban water management by offering practical insights into infrastructure design, operational efficiency, and collaborative learning among cities. By bridging theory and practice, he contributes to the development of sustainable and resilient urban water systems, ensuring that lessons learned in SCP are effectively shared and applied across different regions.
