Water and Development Partnership Programme completes initial evaluation of large-scale proposals

River flooding in Bukit Duri, Jakarta, 2016

More than 100 project ideas were received in response to a call by IHE Delft’s Water and Development Partnership Programme for large-scale proposals that bring together inter- and trans-disciplinary teams for work to find sustainable solutions to water challenges, redress injustices and enrich the knowledge on water.

All submitters of project ideas have received recommendations on how to strengthen their project ideas and/or better align them with the philosophy and focus of the programme. These recommendations include a prospect of the chances of getting funding awarded, which project teams can use to decide whether they will invest in developing full proposals, which are due 17:00 CET on 6 February 2023. The programme has recommended the teams behind about 30 per cent of the submitted project ideas to advance their submissions into full proposals.

In the second stage, the programme committee will aim to select seven proposals for funding, with final results expected to be announced at the end of March 2023.

More about the partnership programme

The programme envisions a world where inclusive and diverse partnerships and marginalized knowledges transform the ways we know, use, share and care for water. To achieve this, the third phase of the programme (2022-2027) funds bold, creative and transdisciplinary projects that combine research, education and capacity strengthening activities aimed at creating a peaceful, just and sustainable world. The Water and Development Partnership Programme is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
