UN Water Conference 2023 : Marathon Relay Debate

Debate

In 2020, five accelerators that will speed up progress toward fulfilling Sustainable Development Goal 6, which calls for universal access to clean water and sanitation, were identified: Finance, Data and information, Capacity development, Innovation and Governance.

What research and innovation are needed to accelerate work in each of these five pillars? This is the question researchers around the world will debate in a 24-hour marathon relay held in the run-up to the UN 2023 Water Conference. The result of the debate will be shared at the Conference.

The debate starts at City University of New York on 20 March at 12:00 EST (17:00 CET), and after two hours, the debate, held online, is handed over to the next time zone. It will reach Europe 21 March at 11:00 CET, when experts from IHE Delft, The Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and others will begin a two-hour debate at TU Delft.

To join the Delft event in person, please come to TU Delft’s Green Village (max capacity 100 persons).
