Results of the UN Water Conference 2023: How should research institutions respond?

IHE Delft MSc student Lindsey Kenyon speaking at a UN Water Conference side event

In this symposium we invite conference participants to share some the main messages they took from the UN Water Conference, as well as their thoughts on how the research community can respond.

The UN Water Conference concluded on 24 March with the adoption of the Water Action Agenda, a milestone action plan containing more than 700 commitments by governments, the UN system, universities, companies and many others. The commitments focus on accelerated implementation and improved impact towards achieving SDG 6 and other water-related goals and targets.

Fulfilling the commitments and achieving SDG 6 will require social and technological innovations spanning disciplines and moving quickly to implementation.

Is the research community in the Netherlands and beyond ready to respond?
