Regional Workshop and Seminar on the Integrated Management of Small Island Water and Marine Resources

IHE Delft invites you to apply for the upcoming Regional Workshop and Seminar on the Integrated Management of Small Island Water and Marine Resources, which will be held from 9-12 December 2024 in Thulusdhoo island, Kaafu Atoll, Maldives. The seminar will also take place in the capital Malé, on the afternoon of 12 December 2024. The participants who complete the workshop will receive an official IHE Delft certificate of completion.

This workshop focuses on the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and South China Seas regions and provides a unique opportunity for water experts and professionals to engage in meaningful discussions on water management issues in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Please refer to the attachment for details on the workshop content.

How to apply:

To participate in this event, we invite you to follow the steps below:

  1. Fill in the application formDeadline 10th (Extended to 18th) October 2024. But apply as soon as possible.
  2. Register on IHE Delft’s Open Courseware Platform.
  3. Join the online course "SIDS: Integrated Management of Small Island Water and Marine Resources". [Why do we ask you to join an online course? The workshop will be a continuation of this course. So, completing this is a prerequisite.This online course is completely free.]
  4. Complete at least 3 chapters (in addition to the introduction). You need to reach this by 31st Oct 2024.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for a limited number of participants. Applications will be considered based on factors such as course completion, gender, and country balance. The selection will focus primarily on participants from the following countries: Cabo Verde, Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, Maldives, Mauritius, and São Tomé & Príncipe. Applicants from Seychelles, Singapore, and Bahrain are also eligible but may be considered for scholarships with a lower priority due to donor conditions.
