What you can expect

IHE Delft acts as a hub for partnerships and networks across the globe, linking global knowledge to local sector agendas. The Institute collaborates with a wide range of public and private partners, comprising a wide range of fields and technical cooperation in human and institutional capacity building. These partners, at the international, United Nations, EU and national levels, include education and research institutes, knowledge centres, the (Dutch) Water Sector, funding agencies, and (non-) governmental organizations.

The global context, including dialogues and targets such as the Sustainable Development Goals, provides a framework for your study. At IHE Delft, you will learn from leading figures from the international water arena – but also from your fellow peers. IHE Delft students come from different countries and bring diverse experiences, both professional and personal, of water. They share their perspectives with each other and their teachers, leading to mutual learning.

Most students are at the early and mid-level stages of their careers in water-related fields and come from Africa, Asia and South America, while others come from Europe, North America and other regions. For Dutch students, joining IHE Delft is like studying abroad at home.

Accredited programmes

The IHE Delft MSc degrees are accredited under the Dutch law and are registered at the Central Register for Higher Education Programmes (CROHO) in The Netherlands. The Ministry of Education is co-signatory on all the diplomas presented by the Institute, thus endorsing the academic standard of the degrees as comparable to those of the Dutch universities.

The MSc Programmes are accredited by the Netherlands-Flemish Accreditation Organisation (NVAO) according to a standard assessment protocol.

The MSc degree is recognised as a graduate level credit by all Dutch universities and many universities abroad. Normally no extra entrance examinations or course requirements are needed to apply for PhDs after the course. MSc graduates receive a diploma and a diploma supplement that describes the programme and provides an overview of the graduate’s results.
