IHE Delft at 10th World Water Forum
IHE Delft will participate in the 10th World Water Forum, to be held in Bali, Indonesia, from 18 to 25 May 2024 with the theme Water for Shared Prosperity. Institute delegates will speak at several sessions, and the Institute will be part of an UNESCO Water Pavilion.

In this seminar, two Australian water scholars will share their reflections and insights about the differences and frictions between ‘western’ and indigenous water sciences. The 1.5-hour seminar will be followed by networking drinks.

The movement to grant legal rights to rivers and nature is rapidly gaining momentum globally. The Whanganui river in New Zealand has been the first river in the world to be recognized as a living entity and to enjoy the same rights as a living person.

Teach-in: Water justice in Palestine
This teach-in discusses how colonialism and structural imbalances of power have shaped water governance in Palestine. Guided by researchers and practitioners who are from, or worked in Palestine, we aim to understand what the current water governance systems look like, and how systemic injustices are created and maintained. The session focuses in particular on land grabbing and access to water, the institutionalization of imbalances of power and the role of securitization on water management, and the role of the international community (including researchers) in maintaining, strengthening and challenging these structures.

Nature-Based Solutions for Water Security and Climate Adaptation Conference
The RECONECT project team led by Zoran Vojinovic, IHE Delft Associate Professor of Urban Water Systems is organising the upcoming International Conference on Nature-Based Solutions for Water Security and Climate Adaptation. This conference aims to bring together academic communities and practitioners to exchange information, experiences and research results on a variety of aspects concerning Nature-Based Solutions for Water Security and Climate Adaptation.
